The Republic of Türkiye is looking for deeper economic relations with Nigeria, targeting to increase cooperation in the energy, construction and defense sectors.
This step is the latest encouragement of the country to expand the current bilateral trade volume of $ 1 billion between the two countries.
Plans to increase trade and investment partnerships, especially in major sectors such as energy, construction, agriculture, manufacturing, and defense, are known on Monday by the Turkish government through diplomatic missions and their businesses.
During a recent high-level meeting between Turkish trade officials and Nigerian government representatives in Abuja, both parties emphasized the need to unlock and strengthen the full potential of their economic relations.

According to the Deputy Ambassador of Turkey to Nigeria, Elif Durdu, Türkiye is exploring ways to increase Turkish-Nigerian trade volume to five billion dollars, because the two countries are significant players in their respective regions, but the current trading volume among them does not reflect their potential.
Both countries can provide more in terms of bilateral commercial interactions, according to records, Durdu added, and this can only be achieved by expanding their trade relations.
