Two bodies found in lagos collapsed buildings

Emergency respondents had found two bodies from the debris of three-story buildings that collapsed in the Yaba area in Lagos on Friday night.

Acting Head of the National Emergency Management Agency (Lagos Operations Office), Ny. Adenike Ibitayo, revealed this to journalists on Saturday at Lagos.

Four people who are saved from unfinished building debris are currently receiving treatment at hospitals in the area.

Ibitayo said the building located at No. 333 Borno Street, Alagomeji, Yaba, fainted at 8:30 pm on Friday and trapped several people.

He added that the search and rescue operation was ongoing.

Nema officials noted that the number of people who were still trapped under the debris could not be determined until the building was completely lowered to the ground.

He registered emergency respondents at the scene to include the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (Lasema), Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Lagos State Building and Control Agency (LabSCA), and Nigerian Police, among others.
