Manchester United signed a dramatic return to overcome Lyon 5-4 of 10 men after extra time, in the quarterfinal round of the Europa League in Old Trafford on Thursday.
The Red Devils progressed to the last four 7-6 together.
Below 4-2 and facing elimination, United scored three late goals in extra time to advance.
Manuel Ugarte opened the scoring in the tenth minute, while Diogo Dalot put the 2-0 in a minute of time added in first half.
In the 71st minute, Corentin Tolisso withdrew a goal before Nicolas Tagliafico completed the return.
However, in the 89th minute, Tolisso went from a hero to Villano when he was sent after receiving his second yellow card.
Despite playing with 10 men, Lyon Wemt 3-2 ahead in 105 minutes through Rayan Cherki and in 110 minutes, former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette scored from the point of penalty to put 4-2.
Four minutes later, United received a penalty that Bruno Fernandes converted, while in the 120 Kobbie Maino Drew United minute.
With the game aimed at penalties, Harry Maguire then scored the winner for an additional minute.
In Italy, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru was a bench when Lazio beat Bodoe/Glimt 3-1, carrying the score added to 3-3.
The game was decided through a penalty shooting with Bodoe/Glimt triumphing 3-2.
