Violation of the Etablishment Law: Cipmn to Seal, Sanzion Project Management Institute, others

Abuja (basic reporter) for the violation of the institution law, the Chartered Institute of Project Managers of Nigeria (Cipmn) has issued a final warning to the Project Management Institute (SME) Nigeria, to the project management organizations and consultancy for urgency for the requirements and accreditation or face the complete law of the law.

The General Chancellor and CEO, Cipmn, Henry Ifeanyi Mbadiwe has read the Riot Act in a press conference in Abuja with the title “A call to accreditation and respect for the Cipmn Establishment Act”.

He said that everyone in Nigeria who completed the formation of the SME certificate or a certificate from any other issue of Nigeria to be certified by Cipmn in accordance with the law to exercise as a project manager in the country.

“This is the final call that I am doing to Nigeria and other training organizations for the management of projects or advice in Nigeria, they do not break the law.

“We will use the tools available to seal and pursue those who break these laws, establishing Cipmn.

“Do not allow members or personnel to continue to break the law. Cipmn will assert this law on those who violate it; it is a crime to guide any project without the Cipmn license.

“Nigeria is not a country without law; our national assembly exists for a reason, law enforcement and our judicial system exist for a reason and our presidency exists for a reason.

The Cipmn head has also mentioned some legal provisions in support of the institute’s action

“The law in section 15 (1A) states that the Council can approve any qualification for the purposes of this law and, for this purpose, approve any –

A training course of any approved institution intended for people who are trying to become or are already professionals for the management of the project and that the Council considers relevant to give the people who complete sufficient knowledge and skills for admission to the Institute and;

B. The qualification that, following an examination taken in collaboration with a training course approved by the Council pursuant to this Section, is granted to candidates who reach a specific standard to the exam, indicating according to the opinion of the members of the Council

“Section 21 (1) of the law stated that the Council can establish rules

A for the training of registered members of the profession or of people suitable in the method of managing the project

B. For supervision, regulation, involvement and training of people.

C. Subsection (1F): limit the right to practice as a member of the profession if the qualification granted outside Nigeria does not authorize the owner to practice before a person qualifies for a license to practice as a member of the profession.

“While the law in section 8 says that the project for the management of the project from abroad resides in Nigeria and wishes to practice, within 12 months from the beginning of this law, to see the registration with the Institute to become a member.”

“Section 9a says:” A person will not have the right to be appointed or committed to directing any management of the project of an organization unless he is duly registered as a member of the qualified institute for examination or award approved. “

“The law in section 7 states that the Council from time to time publishes in the Gazzetta of the Federal Government, detailed qualifications for the moment accepted for registration pursuant to the law.”

“Section 19 (2):” Where either after the start date or after this law, a person who is not a member of the Practices Institute (PM) or is held out as a member waiting or a reward (such as a salary, a remuneration or recognition) or uses or uses any name, addition of the title or description that implies that he is a member, the person commits a crime “

Mbadiwe, however, observed that Nigeria is a country with laws and in line with the renewed agenda of the hope of the administration of President Bola Tinubu, Cipmn will carry out its legally mandatory duties to regulate the profession of management of the project for the benefit of the country, its laws and people.
