We are using government tools to have an impact on life: Gbajamila

The head of the president’s staff, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamilaila, states that the purpose of the government and the public service point is to allow people in any society to pursue their ambitions from God.

Gbajabiamilila said it at the launch of 33 buses that he provided to facilitate transport in the federal electoral college of Surulere in Lagos.

Freedomonline reports that the buses, which include high-capacity buses and buses of medium-sized, have been launched to provide intra-city transport services for residents as part of the welfare program of “Gbaja Ride”.

He said that the administration of President Bola Tinubu has achieved the purpose of the government through his renewed agenda of hope.

The head of the staff added that the current administration had had an impact on so many lives with its policies and programs from the beginning two years ago

He said his “Gbaja Ride” program was a means of using government tools to have an impact on the masses.

“The Gbaja program Ride that we are launching today is also a product of this determination to use the government tools at all levels to relieve the life of our people and allow our citizens to do more and get bigger things.

“Access to safe, efficient and reliable public transport services is essential in an urban environment like ours.

“Access to these services, in particular for young children at school, for the elderly, for the least skilled and for all those who fight with their income, can be the difference between success at school or bankruptcy due to the lack of regular frequency.

“It may be the difference between being able to arrive in hospital in time to receive life -saving medical assistance or die at home alone.

“It may be the difference between a job interview in time or lose the opportunity of a lifetime.

“The buses that we are presenting here today will be managed in collaboration with the Lagos Metropolitan Transport Agency (Lamata) to provide free transport to and from school for all secondary school students in the Surulere axis to ensure that our young people can go to school in time and safety

“Parents in these areas no longer have to worry about providing money for the transport or fear for the well -being of their departments while traveling to school in the morning and return home in the afternoon,” he said

He said that buses, in addition to providing free services to school children and the elderly, would also be available for other residents for disability shuttles with a strong 25 % discount of normal rates for all routes in which they would be available.

He said the buses would prioritize the elderly and pregnant women who travel with young children.

“I said before and I will repeat again, building a working company is a collective responsibility that requires the joint efforts of all citizens.

“We have provided these buses and our team of young people dedicated in collaboration with our Lamata partners will manage this program in a sustainable and effective way.

“However, ensuring that this program is successful and lasts both the collective responsibility of all drivers, conductors and passengers who would use and benefit from the program.

“Therefore, they urge everyone to treat their buses with the same level of care and consideration that you normally would give to your vehicles,” he said.

The head of the staff has said that it has already made provisions for the refueling of buses, maintenance and salary drivers for the next three months to ensure uninterrupted operations.

He thanked the president Tinubu for exemplified all the excellence and praised Gov.Banajide Sanwo-Oell for his support for the program.

Speaking, representative. Fuad Laguda, a legislator who represents the federal electoral college of Surulere 1, thanked Gbajabiamilala for the intervention, stating that the program would have an impact on life.

He said that the head of the staff has shown once again that the leadership concerns the service.

“The head of the staff did it again. We are proud of him and everything he is doing to suure.

“People always ask me, as a successor of the head of the staff at the Chamber of Representatives, if I can wear shoes.

“My answer has always been that I can’t wear shoes and that nobody can.

In fact, his shoes are at the museum.

“But we thank the former speaker for creating the journey for us to do our part for the people of Surulere,” he said.

Even speaking, Sulaiman Yusuf, president of Surulere Local Government, also thanked Gbajabiamilila for having had an impact on the life of Surulere.

“Our honorable head of the staff did so much for the people of Surulere. He did so many things that we cannot start counting.
