Some children of the legendary musician Juju, Sunday Adegeye, aka King Sunny Ade, are currently in Loggerheads for his well -being and where he is.
A daughter of the singer and guitarist, Damilola Esther, went to social media to accuse her half -brother, Dayo, to keep the father hostage and also to book him for events not to honor the commitments.
In a series of posts on social media, he also asked his brother, who defined his manager, to be arrested to “steal” by Ksa.
One of the posts recited: “Dad told my brother who wants to go home. Where is his phones? Wasn’t he online or did he choose his calls. Where is his calls?”
Another says: “I want Dayo (manager) to be arrested. I want him to provide all the money that stolen him. He has a visa in the United Kingdom, thinking he can run.”
However, in an exclusive interview with Punch online on Monday, Dayo noticed that the father was Hale and abundant.
He claimed not to be the “official director” of his father, but he was only helping his father in this sense.
He said: “The accusation is false. Saturday (April 26, 2025), my father performed at the 60th birthday party of a fan. The event took place at 16, Musa Yar’adua Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. He still had evidence with the members of his band last week. He will perform at Akure (Ondo State Capital) on May 1.
“She (Damilola) is not in the right state of mind for her to have made those posts. On Easter Sunday, she called me and she said she wanted to talk to Dad, because she doesn’t live in Nigeria. I gave my father’s phone and they spoke for about 30 minutes. I told her that if she wanted to see it, she could come to Nigeria.
“The moment he started making bad comments on dad, he crossed the line. You can’t talk badly about my father and expect me to continue doing with you, no matter who you are. My mother would not do it too. Because you (Damilola) goes on social media and called dad’s names.”
Dayo also declared that Ksa would release a statement to free the air and put things in perspective.
“Gently ignore everything he said. KSA will release a declaration on social media within 24 hours. And if you are free, you can join him in Akure for his performance on May 1. It will be happy to have an interaction with you and answer questions about what you have heard on social media about him,” he said.
Clarify that it was not the manager of Ksa, but he was only “helping” in the absence of one, Dayo said to our correspondent: “I am not an official manager. I only attended my father. I have my activities. As I explained to them (Damilola), I have no work letter and I am not on the payroll.
“I am only helping my father, like the commands of the scriptures. This agreement was not even planned, but it was made necessary by some developments. He (KSA) asked me to help him manage certain things, waiting for the time he has in that position. And he feels extremely at ease with what I did and said I would have to continue to do so.
“It’s like reimbursing him for all the things he has done for me. One of the things he loves most is going on stage to perform, and that’s what he has done in the last 59 years. We cannot simply ask him to stop doing it.”
Another son of the iconic musician, David, said that Damilola was inventing things.
In a separate interview with our correspondent, he said: “While I’m talking to you, dad is fine. He doesn’t work under coercion. He has just finished an event. I can tell you with evidence and tests that is fine.”
David also noticed that he was ready to volunteer to show that their dad is fine and there was no reason for alarm.
