Wike dares critics, swears to resign if the demand for audit NDDC on Amaechi has been false

The Minister of the Territory of the Federal capital (FCT), Nyesom Wike, declared his readiness to resign from the office if his claims against the former transport minister, Rotimi Amaechi, as contained in the forensic audit report of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), have shown false.

Wike, who did the bold declaration on Friday during an interview on a private television, said that the Audit report exposed the profound corruption that involves the best allies of Amaechi during his mandate as a governor of the state of sparrows.

“I will resign as Minister of FCT if it is a lie that the forensic relationship of the IDDC showed that someone was collecting N4 billion dollars a month,” said Wike with emphasis, bold criticism to challenge the authenticity of the relationship.

He also accused Amaechi of compromising his office by accepting a gift from Rolls Royce from the ex senator John Azuta Mbata while needing as governor, questioning the moral terrain of those who point their fingers against others.

According to the Minister of FCT, the Audit report was deliberately buried by a former minister under the administration led by Buhari to protect powerful interests.

He urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to make the report public, describing it as a crucial document that could reveal the rot in the NDDC.

Wike also made a blow to the guidance of the recently renovated African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing them as the “worst of the nation” and rejecting the possibilities of the opposition coalition to move the sentence of all the progressives of the Congress (APC) in the future elections.

He identified the former president of the Senate David Mark, now a prominent figure of the ADC, claiming that, despite his two -terms leadership of the National Assembly, he was unable to provide significant development to his electoral college.

The former governor of the State of the rivers also revealed the details of his political history with Amaechi, stating that once he fought for him to become governor, but since then he has become disillusioned from what he described as “hypocrisy and selfish politics”.

Wike’s comments arrive in the midst of an increase in political realignment and power of power following the defection of several EPC stalwarts at the ADC, including David Mark and the former interior minister, Rauf Aregbesola.

The minister’s fiery observations aroused reactions within the political circles, while the battle for control before 2027 continues to collect steam.
