The Minister of the Territory of the Federal capital (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has directed a total rearpard on the unregistered hospital and the medical staff of Quack who operates in the FCT, stating that “from now on anyone found an operator or working in an unregistered healthcare facility should be arrested and pursued”.
The FCT gave this directive while reacting to the death of a pregnant woman, at the Afolmi hospital, a private health facility located in Durumi, Abuja, following a Caesarea section.
Senior Special Assistant of the Minister of FCT for public communications and social media, Lere Olayinka, said on Saturday that it was a pity that, despite the free registration of pregnant women in the health insurance system of the Capital Federal area (FHIS), most pregnant women were not yet taking advantage of the regime.
He said; “In the FCT, vulnerable people, including pregnant women, enjoy free registrations to the FHIs, which allows them free access, through the basic health care centers (Phc), to all the services covered in the minimum basic package of health services (BMPHS).
βIn addition, in line with the renewed agenda and demonstration of the Federal Government, the Zero Zero Zero tolerance led by the Wike for the maternal, several FCT hospitals, including Gwarinpa, Nyanya, Abji and Kuje General Hospitals, have also been designated as emergency care (Ceonc. Charge.
“Our pregnant women are once again invited to take advantage of this free health insurance scheme and stop visiting the medical staff of quack and unregistered health facilities.”
It should be remembered that yesterday Chekwube Chinagorom, a 35 -year -old woman, was brought dead to the District Hospital in Asakoro. It has been reported that she died, following a Caesarea section, at the Afolmi, Durumi, Abuja hospital, an unregistered private facility that operates in a poor and unhews medical environment.
It had been delivered by a living child, who was subsequently addressed to the ASOKORO District Hospital for Cure.
The investigation conducted by the Committee for the registration and monitoring of the private health establishments (Phermc) revealed that the Hospital Afolmi was not duly registered. At the time of the inspection, only a staff member, Simon Elisha Godiya, who identified himself as a worker for extension of the health of the Junior community was present in service.
Godya reported that the surgical operation was performed by a Murtala Jumma in collaboration with another unidentified individual. All attempts to reach Murtala Jumma by phone have not been successful.
Shortly after the Phermc team came to the structure, a detachment of Nigerian police officers, the headquarters of the Durumi division, has also arrived. The case was immediately delivered to the police for further investigations.
The officer in office requested that the Phermc team accompanied them to the station to formally record the accident and the team respected accordingly.
The Nigeria police are currently helping to identify the people responsible for the intervention, verifying their qualifications and investigating the circumstances that led to the death of the deceased chinagorom of the Afolmi hospital
