Minister of the Territory of the Federal capital (FCT), Nyesom Wike has threatened to fire the executive secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Richard Yunana Dauda for alleged fraud 455 people, whose homes were pulled down last week in the construction during Shehu Shagari Road in the village of Gishiri, in the Katami district, Abuja.
The minister issued the threat on Monday when he turned to the leaders of the community and the parts of the discontented stakeholders of Gishiri for compensation and the resetting of the affected victims.
Wike expressed shock for the shady agreements implicated in compensation for the victims.
He observed that, despite the fact that the sum of n1.3 billion for compensation for the exercise, the FCDA and the compensation and transfer department offered much lower victims than what approved.
He also reproached Dauda, who is an indigenous of Abuja, for not having left the trust placed in him by the people and administration.
A angry Wike warned and threatened to fire the executive secretary if he did not pay what has been approved for the victims.
Some of the victims of the Gishiri community alternated to accuse the executive secretary of having voluntarily intended the minister’s instructions regarding their compensation and transfer.
Umaru Godwin said he had been offered resetting in a distinct environment in the water, in which the victims of the demolition were unable to build any structure.
Another member of the community, Princess Juliet Jonah, told the minister that the victims was offered N72, 000 for the house regardless of the value of their homes.
