Woman Arrested For Attempting To Smuggle Drugs To Abuja Prisoner – TrendyNewsReporters

A woman identified as Precious Yusuf has been arrested by officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service for allegedly attempting to smuggle drugs to an inmate at the Kuje Medium Security Detention Centre in Abuja.

The suspect was said to have disguised himself as a visitor to one of the inmates but was arrested during a search by officers of the Correctional Service. In a statement released, the spokesman of the FCT command of the service, Adamu Duza, said the suspect hid the drugs in food packets and later confessed that he was sent to deliver the drugs to an inmate in the facility.

“The Nigerian Correctional Service, FCT Command has arrested a woman named Precious Yusuf who was trying to push drugs to an inmate at the Medium Security Custodial Centre Kuje, Abuja. This happened on Tuesday when the aforementioned woman posed as a visitor to an inmate. During the usual routine search by officers at the Kuje Custodial Centre, items suspected to be cannabis and other dangerous drugs were hidden in food packets in a carton.

The culprit confessed that he was sent to bring this to an inmate at the custodial centre,” the statement read.
