At least six people were killed when a building collapsed during heavy rain in the regional government and long areas in the state of Katsina on Tuesday.
A mother and her five children were killed in the incident, which occurred around 02:00 on Tuesday.
People who died were identified as Mariya Sani (45), Mujahid (20), Zahariya (18), Hauwa (15), Amira, and Nura Sani (5).
The woman’s husband, Muhammad Sani night, confirmed the tragic incident to journalists in Katsina.

He said the other three were rushed to hospitals with various levels of injury suffered in the incident.
Sani added that he left when it happened and was left surprised after hearing the news.
“This affects about 10 people, but unfortunately, six do not survive. Three currently receive treatment at the hospital,” he said.
Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Hajiya Binta Dangani, confirmed the incident to journalists.
He said the agency official had been sent to entertain the family and assess the damage for the required follow -up.
