Zadok Yohanna: From Kaduna to King of Sweden in six months

Zadok Show was the last Swedish film of the new season which premiered last night and featured a young Nigerian in the main cast.

It was none other than 18-year-old Nigerian striker Yohanna Zadok, whose season debut was met with admiration, ecstasy and sweet victory.

Signed from the Kaduna-based Ikon Allah Football Academy, six months ago he took his pre-season and cup form to the league and made an instant impact.

The premiere was held at the Strawberry Arena at AIK Solna and the young man left fans amazed when they saw what the boy was made of. His gold trade could attract sheikhs in the near future.

Halmstad called and it ended 2-1 with the boy sealing the game with a “kiss” that sent the 50,000 spectators into delirium.

AIK fans packed the stadium to see the youngster who showed promise in his senior starts last season. Zadok did not score a goal in his six appearances last season for the senior team, a far cry from his hot, smoking form in the youth team.

Zadok refused to look like an upstart to prove he could be the goal-producing machine. He produced one last night and fans believe he will deliver more as the season progresses.

But he was ready for the game and also ready to score goals, as his goals in the Svenka Cup were reminders that he could finish off Halmstad.

Goals, assists and an overall impressive performance headlined the media in their steamy Svenka Cup matches ahead of the first match of the new season.

The big occasion seemed the same as the Svenka Cup for Zadok, as he agreed with the fans to attack the visiting defense.

They denied him the goal many times but with seven minutes remaining the story changed.

Guiding the ball close to his lethal left with two Halmstad defenders aggressively entertaining him and almost losing the ball out of his reach, brilliantly forcing the ball back to his foot and crashing it into the top left corner. Pure brilliance!

Impressive from the skilful lad and the winning goal assured as AIK opened the new season with maximum points.

Fast, intelligent and slippery as an eel, Zadok Show was a star for the young man.

Reaching for the stars was the superlative film role played in the “premiere” by the young man.

He even once impressed in his role casting by turning the Arena into a circus show while fans enjoyed themselves.

With the ball securely attached to his left foot, the defenders were defiantly invited, dismissed in almost such a poetic moment as Halmstad’s defenders were completely reduced.

He seemed to enjoy it more when suddenly all the balls flew his way as AIK attacked ferociously.

Looking set to attract more roles in upcoming films, Zadok is here to stay.

What else didn’t he do in the game? In fact, he reached the stars, a 9.2-star rating, the match-winner’s man and the game-winner.

AIK has unleashed a new star waiting to be courted by big spenders.

Zadok will no doubt land bigger film roles in France, Italy or Spain in the coming years, should his debut be impeccable.

Is he the new Kanu?

Languidly resembling Kanu, standing at a princely height of 1.81m, Zadok has been variously described in the Swedish press as possessing a lethal and refined left foot.

He pretty much boxed every legendary Kanu he owned, but it remains to be seen where he will land in the coming years.

Maybe Arsenal like Kanu?

AIK coach José Riveiro, a firm believer in the youngster, wasted no time in incorporating him into his team this season in their 4-3-3 formation.

Reserved a “permanent” place on the right wing, Zadok, a brilliant left foot, brings his left foot to the game to kill. He did it last night and the Halmstad defenders remembered it for a long time, as well as making the AIK fans’ mouths water.

Nigeria should be watching: will the cadet team come first before the Super Eagles?

Or directly to the Eagles?

Whichever Eagle is first, the smart money is on him rising higher.

In the meantime, welcome to Sweden’s first soccer team, Yohanna Zadok!
