Zamfara commissioner tasks PDP members on unity – Blueprint Newspapers Limited



Zamfara state Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Kabiru Moyi Birnin Magaji has appealed to aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in Birnin Magaji LGA over the sharing of political appointments by Governor Dauda Lawal to shield their sword and embrace dialogue.

The commissioner made the call in an interview with journalists in his office, Tuesday.

According to him, no meaningful development could be achieved in a situation of  political rancour.

He added that some of the members in the area who were aggrieved over the recent appointment for the local government caretakers by Governor Dauda Lawal were politically motivated.

He challenged that the appointments done by the governor was based on merit and unbiased.

“I want to appeal to all the aggrieved members of our great party in my local government, Birnin Magaji that the appointments of caretaker committee made by the governor was based on merit and unbiased and we should remain united instead of creating political enmity that could disrupt the good policies and programmes of the state governor,” Moyi stated

Blueprint gathered that the stakeholders of the PDP in Birnin Magaji local government area of Zamfara state had on Monday cried out over the imposition of a caretaker committee chairman without their approval.

Addressing journalists in Gusau, the stakeholders of the party comprising the 10 ward chairmen, led by the state’s financial secretary, Hon. Sani Ibrahim Alti Birnin Magaji accused the chairman of screening committee also the state commissioner of housing and urban development, Kabiru Moyi of singlehandedly selecting the caretaker committee chairman without their consent.
