Zelensky reduces our silence when Russia increases the attack, rejecting a ceasefire

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed deep frustration of the lack of United States response to Russian rejection to receive “full ceasefire, unconditional,” even when Moscow intensified air bombing, which resulted in civilian casualties.

Zelensky reported the “big” missile and drone attack in Ukraine, which killed two people and injured seven others. “We are waiting for the United States to respond – so far there has been no response,” Zelensky said, highlighting the urgency of the situation. Russia claimed to have “released” Basivka Village in the Sumy region, but Ukraine refused this as “disinformation.” “The enemy continues the disinformation campaign regarding the struggle for settlements in the Sumy region or border breakthroughs,” said Andriy Demchenko, a spokesman for the Ukrainian border service guards.

French President Emmanuel Macron echoed Zelensky’s concern. “A ceasefire is needed as soon as possible. And a strong action if Russia continues to try to buy time and reject peace,” Macron told X. “Russia continues to kill children and civilians,” he added.

The attack followed the destroying missile attack on Rig Kryvyi, who killed 18 people. “The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, condemned the ‘neglect of reckless’ Russia for human life in using ‘explosive weapons with a broad area effect’.”

The Russian Ministry of Defense said it had targeted “central artillery bases and companies involved in producing drones,” and accused Ukraine of attacking its energy infrastructure.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump’s efforts to mediate the ceasefire partially have not produced results. “The United States is also looking for better relations with Russian and Kremlin delegates Kirill Dmitriev in an interview with government television said that the next US-Russian contact can be ‘next week’, reported Russia’s news agent. Dmitriev last week became the most senior Russian official to visit Washington since the Moscow Ukraine invasion.”
