The zonal elimination of National Youth Games for team games may have gone and disappeared, but the victorious memories will never be disappeared while the IMO state has arrived at the top of the south-east by claiming gold in both male and female category in all sports in the foreground, except in rugby in which they sold the silver medal in the male category.

Some of the IMO contingents on the return from Enugu, home to games, praised the efforts of the honorable commissioner for sports development in the state of imo, the Hon. Obinna Onyeocha for galvanizing support and for having increased morality before their departure in Enugu.

According to Chibuzor, a volleyball player, “the honorable commissioner really tried for us. It was assured that our journey to Enugu was worth it and we rewarded it with gold medals. This is the first in its kind”.

Even Obi a football player has eliminated the commissioner for his kind heart and described him as a round pain in a round hole in the sport business in the state of imo. “It never happened before in the state of imo in which we go to the games and return with only gold medals. We trained day and night at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, thanks to the solar lights provided by our tireless governor, Senator District Senator hopes Uzodimma through our honorable Sport Commissioner, he noticed.

By welcoming the IMO contingents, the honorable commissioner thanked them for having made the state proud with their performance in Enugu and commissioned them to replicate the same company during the national youth games to be held in ASABA, in the Delta State in Matter of Days.

He appreciated the efforts, the big heart and the benevolence of his excellence, the distinct senator hopes that Uzodimma who described as a sports ambassador who has revolutionized sport in the state. “The governor lover of sport has shown once again that sport must thrive in our state through continuous support and encouragement, I make myself cut the hat for him”.

It will be remembered that 5 states of the South-East participated in the games with IMO state roads that sweep gold medals in ABULA, basketball, cricket, football, handball, hockey, beach volleyball and volleyball except rugby (male category) where they settled for the silver medal.
