The employee of the Senate Committee for the media and advertising, Mrs. Ngozi Chinyelu, applauded the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting the democratic virtues supported by the deceased Capo Mko Abiola and ensuring that his vision remains a living force in the governance of Nigeria.

Chinyelu, who spoke with journalists during the celebrations of the Day of Democracy at the National Assembly of Thursday 12 June 2025, underlined the symbolic and practical resonance of 12 June, calling it a testimony of national unity.

Reflecting on the canceled elections of 1993 widely considered freer and more just than Nigeria, he noticed as ABIOLA, a Muslim Yoruba, ensured unprecedented cross and religious support.

“The Nigerians voted unanimously for their favorite candidate … because of his good will and generosity,” said, praising Abiola and his deceased wife Kudirat, who fought and died from the actualization of democracy.

Chinyelu has identified the policies focused on the youth of Tinubu as transformative, aligning himself with the ethics of abiola of opportunities and inclusion. “The President’s attention on the youthful Empowerment remains a main blow,” he said, highlighting initiatives such as the 3mtt Digital Skills program and a 2 billion dollar fiber expansion to guide the creation of jobs.

The employee also praised Tinubu and the National Assembly for guaranteeing direct tax autonomy to local governments. “The presidents of the local government now receive assignments to serve their communities directly,” he observed, providing that this would accelerate economic development and basic responsibility.

Mrs. Chinyelu urged the Nigerians to remain patient, stating that the administration is determined to change things for the greater benefits of all citizens.

We remind you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while turned to the joint session of the National Assembly, reiterated his determination to safeguard and build the democracy of Nigeria and to achieve its main purpose of protecting and ensuring that all citizens have the same access to participate in the political process and influence the decisions that influence their life.
