On Monday, President Bola Tinubu held a private meeting with the former governor of the State of Kano and the candidate for the Nnpp presidency of 2023, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, at the Abuja presidential villa.
The meeting behind closed doors took place shortly after Kwankwaso participated in the summit on the Forestry Economy of Nigeria at the Conference Center of the State House, marking the second time that both leaders met since Tinubu took the position in 2023.
Their first meeting was on June 9, 2023, shortly after the inauguration of Tinubu.
While the details of Monday’s interviews remain unscheduled, the sources confirmed that the meeting was held at the official residence of the president, with limited access.
Kwankwaso, a great political force in the North, continued to attract attention between the growing speculations on possible political alignments in view of the general elections of 2027.
