2027 polls: IDAF supports Abba Yusuf and names Waiya as grand patron


The APC Intellectual Door-to-Door Awareness and Mobilization Forum (IDAF) has endorsed Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for a second term, pledging to mobilize grassroots support for his administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The forum made its position known on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Information and Home Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya.

This was revealed in a statement released by the Special Assistant to the Commissioner for Digital Media, Adam Muhammad.

Chairman of the forum, Salisu Alhassan Dantata, said the group would take its awareness and mobilization campaign to communities across Kano State.

He said the goal was to educate residents about state government policies, programs and achievements.

Dantata said the forum remains committed to supporting the administration’s Kano First agenda.

He added that the group will contribute to public awareness and grassroots mobilization in support of the government’s development programmes.

During the visit, the forum also named Waiya its Grand Patron.

In response, Waiya commended the forum’s leadership and members for their initiative and commitment to grassroots engagement.

The Commissioner assured the group that the Kano State Government stands ready to work together to promote public awareness and strengthen engagement with communities.

Waiya highlighted the importance of collaboration and constructive communication in advancing the government’s objectives.

He also linked effective grassroots mobilization to government success ahead of the 2027 elections.

The forum includes members from academia, grassroots organizations and community engagement sectors.

It was established to promote intellectual engagement, public awareness and grassroots participation in governance and development across Kano State.
