President Bola Tinubu has prolonged warm greetings to Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Lfcww) and Faith Tabernacle’s Senior Pastore, for his 71st birthday.
Tinubu, in a declaration Friday of his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, congratulated the family of Oyedepo, the Congregates, the staff of David Oyedepo Ministries International (Domi) and the entire body of Christ.
The president described Oyedepo as “an imposing figure of influence and impact” in Nigeria, Africa and beyond through his spiritual, educational and philanthropic work.
Tinubu praised Lfcww’s chain bishop ((chapel of winners) for his focus, unwavering discipline and diligence, observing that these virtues have fueled the global expansion of LFCWW since 1982.
He highlighted the contributions of Oyedepo to infrastructure, health care and education, which have transformed many cities, states and nations.
Tinubu also recognized the transformative role of Oyedepo’s educational institutions, from primary to tertiary levels, built on holistic human development.
“You built one of the Christian ministries of the greatest African impact from humble beginnings.
“Your firmness in the Ministry of the Word of Faith is exemplary, giving part to many ministries with a resonant impact on the key sectors of the economy.
“Your institution of Covenant University and the University of Reference continues to raise the education standard, in competition favorably with other global institutions.
“Your contributions to the construction of the nation through the preaching and teaching of faith, discipline and service remain deeply appreciated by our government.
“At a time when our nation continues to draw strength from moral and spiritual leaders, you remained a peacesetter and a symbol of a leader of a servant for many to emulate,” said the president.
Tinubu prayed for continuous good health, long life and divine wisdom of Oyedepo to raise more lives, families and nations through the word of faith.
Oyedepo was born on September 27, 1954 in Osogbo, Osun, from a family of mixed faithful.
His father was a Muslim healer and his mother belonged to the Aladura movement.
Oyedepo was raised by an Anglican grandmother who put him on the ground in Christian values.
