● Livestock farmers’ group praises free tractors, new Ministry of Livestock, Markets and Youth Empowerment, says it has ‘achieved commendable results in virtually all areas’
The Kulen Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, KACRAN, has rated the seven-year administration of Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni at 99%, calling it “exceptional leadership and transformative governance”.
In a statement on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of Buni, KACRAN National President, Hon. Khalil Mohd Bello said the governor’s people-oriented policies have reshaped agriculture, education, trade, youth empowerment and livestock development.
KACRAN said Buni has boosted food production by distributing tractors, harvesters, fertilizers and other agricultural inputs “free or at subsidized rates” to farmers across the state.
The group also praised the creation of a Ministry dedicated to livestock development, saying it demonstrated commitment to one of Yobe’s key economic sectors and ensured that “competent individuals” filled key roles.
The association highlighted the construction of modern markets in major cities, arguing that the projects have increased business opportunities and positioned Yobe as an emerging commercial hub of the northeast.
In education, KACRAN noted investments in schools, infrastructure and human capital that have improved the state’s competitiveness. Thousands of young people and women, he adds, have benefited from jobs, empowerment programs and financial support for entrepreneurship.
Beyond Yobe, KACRAN acknowledged Buni’s influence in national politics – as former chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee and current chairman of the party’s reconciliation committee. The group credited him with “exceptional conflict resolution skills” and a reputation as a unifying figure in the APC.
“KACRAN’s assessment shows that Governor Buni has achieved commendable results in virtually all areas that directly impact people’s lives,” the statement concluded.
Buni assumed office in 2019 and has continued to gain support from groups that credit his administration with development initiatives, while maintaining visibility in national affairs.
