Sevilla reach an agreement to sign the Super Eagles’ star striker on a free transfer

Kelechi Iheanacho’s future is set and the 27-year-old will join Spanish LaLiga club Sevilla on a free transfer following his exit from Leicester City upon the expiry of his contract, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Iheanacho will partner another Nigerian, Chidera Ejuke, who joined the team on a free transfer from Russian club CSKA Moscow, after spending the final year of his contract at Belgian club Antwerp.

Sevilla manager Garcia Pimienta is a big fan of the 55-cap striker and has approved his signing as a replacement for Youssef En-Nesyri, who joined Turkish Süper Lig club Fenerbahce a few years ago.

He is expected to lead the team’s attack next season and will hope to improve on his tally of six goals and three assists from last season in Leicester City’s successful promotion campaign to the English Premier League.

The striker, who has been with the club since 2017, rejected a contract offer. He leaves with a total of 61 goals and 34 assists in 232 games.
