Super Falcons lose to world champions Spain

The Super Falcons suffered another defeat at the ongoing Olympics as they went down 1-0 to world champions Spain.

After starting their campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Brazil, Nigeria’s women held their heads high against the world’s No. 1 ranked team.

The Falcons came out strong against Spain and defended very well but failed to capitalise on their golden opportunities, resulting in their defeat.

Nigeria will now face Japan in their final Olympic Group C match while Spain, with two wins, have now reached the quarter-finals of the competition.
