Ajina travels to Lagos with Barau FC, ready to debut in the NPFL

Former ABS Ilorin FC striker, Boluwatife Ajina, has been included in Barau FC’s traveling squad for the Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday six fixture against Sporting Lagos on Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.

Ajina is on track to make his long-awaited NPFL debut since joining Barau FC this summer.

The pacy striker was an unused substitute during Barau FC’s 2-0 home win over Abia Warriors on Wednesday but could get the chance to make his first top-flight appearance against Sporting Lagos.

Speaking before the match, Ajina expressed his willingness to take advantage of the opportunity should the technical team call him up.

“I am ready and looking forward to it. If I get the opportunity, it would be a pleasure for me and I will be ready to give my best to the team,” Ajina said.

Barau FC enters matchday six at the top of the NPFL standings with 11 points from its first five games.

The league leaders will look to maintain their position at the top with another positive result against Sporting Lagos, while Ajina will hope to mark their NPFL journey with a debut appearance in Lagos.
