Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, strongly condemned the vandalism of MTN office at FESTAC area on Monday.
The incident occurred when a group of MTN customers frustrated by the recent blocking of their phone numbers for failure to comply with NIN-SIM linkage requirements, took to the streets and damaged the office fence.
Responding to the viral vandalism video, Hundeyin commented, “This is not the way it should be!”

He further explained, “Meanwhile, DPO FESTAC and his men immediately responded to the report. They managed to restore the situation and are still on the ground to maintain security.”
The blocking of phone numbers affected many customers, leading to widespread discontent and protests at MTN offices across the country. Protesters voiced their disappointment and frustration at not being able to access their phone services.
