Manchester United ready for the match against Fulham (Ten Hag)

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has said the Red Devils are ready to face Fulham in their Premier League opener.

Ten Hag made that clear in the context of the team’s impressive display against Manchester City in the Community Shield on Saturday.

Let’s remember that Manchester United lost on penalties to Manchester City.

Speaking after the match, the Dutch manager said the team is ready to fight against Fulham.

“I am very satisfied. After half an hour we were very competitive and we entered the fight with passion, and that is what we demand from our players. It was very good and we can take advantage of it for next week (against Fulham).

“The start of the league is the most important thing. I think we can take a lot of positive things from this game, and it will give us confidence, but also a bit of pain in the stomach. When you are winning twice, in the match and on penalties, you have to feel the pain. We were very close, but we didn’t win a trophy.

“I missed (our fans) a lot. I’m very happy that we’re back. I’m looking forward to the season starting. We start on Friday against Fulham. We have a few days to prepare and we have to make the most of them. We have to make the most of them and start against Fulham.”

“We worked hard and had a competitive team. That is the responsibility of all of us. The players must be available first of all and then the staff must work with them, support them, get them fit and keep them fit. When the players are available, we have a very good team.”

Ten Hag added: “We are just starting the new season. I am very happy with the new structure. We are working very well together. The team has always been good, but I think we can take steps forward. I think we can take positive things from pre-season and also from today, but I think if we improve and are more effective in both areas, we can be a successful team.”
