CAF Champions League Qualifiers: Rangers claim narrow win over Zilimadjou

Nigerian champions Rangers started their CAF Champions League campaign on a winning note, securing a 1-0 away win against Comoros side US Zilimadjou.

The CAF Champions League qualifier was held on Sunday at the Champions Nest in Uyo.

The decisive goal came in the 22nd minute, courtesy of Frank Uwumiro, giving Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side an early lead.

Despite creating additional scoring opportunities, Rangers were repeatedly frustrated by the opposing goalkeeper.

The two teams will meet again in the first leg next Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
