Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has reportedly splashed out £2.1 million on two private jets. According to the Mirror, filings from his rights company, York Promotions Ltd, show the Norwegian star has entered into a deal to purchase two planes. Statements attached to the annual accounts reveal: “The company has entered into an agreement to acquire a share in two aircraft for a sum of £2,155,342.” The development comes after another impressive start to the season after the striker scored four goals in just two Premier League appearances. The 24-year-old scored once against Chelsea in the opening game of the campaign and netted a hat-trick as Manchester City came from behind to secure a comfortable victory over newly promoted Ipswich Town. The latest annual accounts show the Citizens star increased his company’s assets to £12m between December 2022 and December 2023. In terms of cash in the bank, Haaland’s account reveals almost £7m, including £2.5m in net assets. The striker is steadily expanding his business portfolio and sources suggest he is considering entering the soft drinks market with a plan to launch his own branded energy drink. The Mirror reported that Haaland’s lawyers have sent documents to the UK’s Intellectual Property Office listing the following items: “Drinking water; sports drinks; energy drinks; fruit drinks; fruit juice drinks; protein drinks; carbohydrate drinks; protein-enriched sports drinks; caffeinated energy drinks; energy drinks [not for medical purposes]’ .
