Amnesty International has criticised the occupation of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (DSS) offices in Abuja by officers of the Department of State Services.
DSS officers had earlier on Monday stormed SEPAP’s offices and demanded to meet with the organisation’s directors.
The raid on the agency’s offices came just 24 hours after the agency urged President Bola Tinubu to reverse the latest price hike at fuel pumps.

In a post on its X account, the human rights watchdog warned that President Tinubu’s government had gone too far in its efforts to silence dissenting voices in the country.
“Amnesty International has received disturbing reports of the illegal raid of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project office in Abuja by DSS operatives. President Bola Tinubu has gone too far in his government’s repressive efforts to silence dissenting voices,” he wrote.
