Vice President Kashim Shettima on Saturday led a delegation of All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders to Edo State for a final campaign rally ahead of next weekend’s governorship election in the state.

Other APC leaders at the rally held in Benin City were Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje, state governors and many others.

In his speech, Shettima described the APC candidate, Monday Okpebholo, as an experienced leader with a proven track record of excellence.

He pointed out that with increased allocations to the states, the new government should have sufficient resources to finance development projects.

In his remarks, Ganduje also appealed to the people of the state to vote en masse for the APC candidates.

“The cloud of intimidation has lifted and the ground has become fertile for our party’s vision to flourish. Edo has become a symbol of literary and economic renaissance,” he said.

The APC chairman commended party leaders in the state for their commitment to its success.

Okpebholo, who spoke shortly after receiving the APC flag, promised to revive the state’s economy.
