Kida urges NBBF presidential aspirants to make basketball their priority

The President of the Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF), Engr. Musa Kida, has urged contestants in the upcoming federation elections to focus their campaigns on their agendas and vision for the development of basketball in Nigeria.

Kida made the appeal while addressing stakeholders at the NBBF Extraordinary Congress held at City Green Hotel, Yola, Adamawa State.

He advised the contestants to clearly present their plans for the game and explain what they intend to do for various stakeholders in the basketball community.

According to him, elections should be focused on ideas and programs that will advance Nigerian basketball, rather than allegations or information circulated against fellow contestants for the purpose of securing votes.

My advice is to declare to the interested parties what they have for the game and for the interested parties,” Kida said.

He also urged delegates and other stakeholders to listen carefully to the different positions presented by contestants instead of relying solely on information conveyed to them by others.

Kida’s appeal comes as Nigerian basketball stakeholders prepare for the federation’s leadership election, with the competition expected to determine the direction of the sport under the next administration.

The NBBF president maintained that the responsibility lies with both contestants and stakeholders to ensure that the electoral process remains focused on the growth and development of basketball.
