Obaseki’s Desperate Attempt to Buy Votes with Black Money Must Be Rejected by Edo State PeoplePress Release:We have been told that Governor Godwin Obaseki, in a desperate attempt to cling to power and impose his puppet, Asue Ighodalo, on the people of Edo State, has allegedly raked in billions of naira and even stashed away dollars to buy votes in the upcoming elections.

We, concerned citizens, must stand united and reject this blood money!

This money, no matter how large, is stained with the blood of innocent Edo people who died because of the abysmal failures of this government.

This money is the cost of lives lost to floods across Edo, due to the government’s lack of preparedness and its failure to provide lasting solutions. It is the price paid by Edo families torn apart by kidnappings and the alarming increase in insecurity that has plagued our state.

These funds are imbued with the pain of our people who have lost loved ones due to the degradation of our roads, which causes countless accidents and deaths.

It is dirty money that bears the burden of lives lost in our failing health system, where even the most basic treatments are out of reach of the ordinary Edo citizen. Obaseki and his failed government have overseen the deterioration of our state, yet now they think they can buy your votes with dirty money.

The governor’s desperation to impose his chosen henchman, Asue Ighodalo, who, as Chief Economic Adviser, has already failed Edo miserably, is the height of political greed. Edo is not for sale and we must not be bought with blood money!

This is the same administration that brought Edo to its knees, and now when their time is up, they think throwing money at the people will erase years of suffering. We must reject both Obaseki and his puppet Ighodalo. The people of Edo deserve better than a continuation of this disastrous government!

PDP’s time is up! Let us stand strong, united and reject these attempts to buy our future. Edo is not for sale and no amount of dirty money can replace the dignity and pride of our people.
