Police arrest two women for alleged sale of twin babies in Lagos

Police officers in Lagos have arrested two women for allegedly selling twin babies in the state.

State police command spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin said in a statement on Saturday that the suspects, Ujunwa Una and Chinelo Igbechionwu, were arrested by patrol officers from Ojodu Division stationed in Berger.

He said the children have been placed in an orphanage for proper care and medical attention.

The spokesman added that the suspects had been arraigned in court on Thursday while efforts to arrest their conspirators were still ongoing.
