Tinubu appointed Joseph Tegbe as Director General of the China-Nigeria Strategic Partnership

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Joseph Tegbe as director general and global liaison of the Nigeria-China strategic partnership to expand economic cooperation between the two countries.

The appointment was announced in a statement on Sunday by Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to the president on information and strategy.

He revealed that Tegbe will lead the day-to-day operations of the partnership and interact with Chinese partners to ensure that all outcomes are met.

His appointment comes a month after Tinubu’s state visit to Beijing, where Nigeria and China signed an agreement aimed at expanding their economic cooperation.

The presidential spokesperson said Tegbe would present a strategic action plan for Nigeria to benefit from the agreement between the two countries.

Onanuga said Tegbe will report directly to the president as the two countries plan to improve Nigeria’s agricultural practices through knowledge sharing, technology transfer and investment in sustainable farming techniques.

“In his strategic plan, he will outline specific results, schedules and key performance indicators for each area of cooperation. This will include priority projects, investment projections and expected socio-economic outcomes,” Onanuga said.
