Super Falcons will bounce back strong – Hon Alex Oware

The Nigerian football community is still in shock over the Super Falcons’ unexpected 3-2 defeat to debutants Malawi, in the opening group match of the ongoing WAFCON 2026 in Morocco.

Many football fans, stakeholders and enthusiasts have lashed out strongly against the team for what has been described as their worst performance at any stage of competitive tournaments in the last five years.

However, some football lovers do not write off the team, insisting that it has the potential to recover and improve.

Speaking about the shocking loss, grassroots football promoter and youth developer, the Hon. Alex Oware expressed his disappointment at the defeat, although he still believes in the team’s potential to win again.

“It is a painful and expected loss. It is unbelievable that our beloved African queens lose to a team like Malawi,” he noted.

“This defeat tells us that football is developing and growing fast, all over the world. Let’s not forget that we won the championship for the tenth time, a record. So all the teams would go for our jugular.

“I am still confident that our girls can move forward and successfully defend their defeat,” he enthused.

Hon Oware, who is the National Coordinator of the Young Professionals For Tinubu (YP4T) group, continued to admonish Nigerians to continue supporting the team.

He also advised the team to move forward to show the stuff champions are made of and redeem their enviable image as the queens of African football.
