Ajax have reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers to sign Arokodare on a season-long loan.
The striker has attracted interest from Fiorentina, Genoa and Trabzonspor, but Ajax have made him their main attack target.
Arokodare will join a list of famous Nigerian players including Finidi George, Nwankwo Kanu, Sunday Oliseh, Tijani Babangida, Pius Ikedia and Calvin Bassey, who have previously worn the jersey of the famous Dutch team.
Arokodare is expected to work under new Spanish coach Michel who left Girona last season after they suffered relegation from La Liga.
