‘I swear to destroy obidient movements’ —omokri

Former President’s aide and political commentator, Reno Omokri, have openly declared his commitment to expose the obidient movement, connecting his decision with personal threats and falling with the presidential candidate of the labor party, Peter Obi.

Speaking at Breakfast Central on Thursday, Omokri denied the accusation that his opposition to Obi and his supporters was driven by personal revenge. Instead, he highlighted his role in Obi’s political climb and how disappointment then took him to take a hardline attitude towards the movement.

“I swear to destroy the movement because Peter Obi is my project,” Omokri said, given his involvement in increasing Obi’s national excellence.

He claimed that together with Senator Ben Murray-Bruce and former president, he played an important role in securing Obi’s selection as a couple who was running in Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 Presidential Election.

“I am responsible for Peter Obi to be a couple who is walking to Waziri Atiku Abubakar in 2019. I have said this in public. I have documents. I am a careful record guard,” Omokri said.

While the unexpected departure of Obi from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) without previous consultations caused friction, Omokri revealed that his decisive rest came as a result of the behavior of Obi’s supporters.

“The Peter Obi movement, Obidiants, began to attack me, threatened me, insulting me. It’s okay,” he said. “But then they moved from me to my family. I just had a daughter at that time. There were several threats of death.”

Omokri further accused that threats increased to become real life meetings, including incidents in which individuals were reported to track their movements.

“They came to my house in England. They followed my wife and me when we jog. They know my jogging route and chase me, threatening me,” he said.

According to Omokri, his request to Obi for intervention was not answered. He accused that the former presidential candidate of the labor party refused to openly deny someone related to the threat to him.

Feeling abandoned and threatened, Omokri said he decided to take action.

“I have to mobilize any political machine I have to destroy,” he said.
