NANS applauds the Kaduna Skills Initiative

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commended the Kaduna State Government for investing in modern vocational skills centers across the country, while urging other governors to emulate the initiative.

The National President of NANS, Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, delivered the eulogy during an inspection of a vocational training center in Kaduna.

Afeez said the facilities demonstrated the importance of integrating classroom education with vocational training.

According to him, NANS was in Kaduna for the national session and took the opportunity to inspect the infrastructure provided by the state government.

He described the vocational center as impressive, saying it is equipped with modern facilities for skills acquisition and training.

“What we have seen here is excellent. In fact, it is beyond what words can express,” Chimosis said.

He commended Governor Uba Sani for bringing vocational training closer to students and residents through centers established across the state.

Afeez said about 4,000 students have graduated from the centers, which he said are located in the state’s three senatorial districts.

He praised the transparent application process and facilities including hostels, canteen, laboratories and a clinic at the centre.

According to him, the facilities demonstrated that the state government pays attention to youth development and acquisition of practical skills.

He described the center as a modernized vocational training facility, citing its solar, woodworking, carpentry and other modern equipment.

He said the center also produces school uniforms, desks and office furniture, which could help reduce government spending.

He urged the beneficiaries to use the skills they acquire to become productive and teach others who do not have access to the center.

The NANS president said the association had never encountered such a facility during its engagements across the country.

He urged the people of Kaduna State to continue to support initiatives to improve vocational education and empower youth.
