Armed men killed Chinese citizens, police officers in Abia

Armed men on Friday killed two Chinese citizens and a police officer in an ambush in the state of Abia.

Spokesman for the State Police Command, Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the incident in a statement on Saturday in Umuahia.

He said the police operation, however, rescued four Chinese expatriates and two officers near the company’s location in Agukwu-Amaya, Uturu, the regional government area of ​​the issue in the state.

The spokesman registered the victims as Mr. Quan, Mr. Cai, and one of the police escorts, Insp. Audu Saidu.

The criminals also stole police guns.

The statement reads: “The Abia State Police Command, in collaboration with the military and other brother’s security institutions, led by Uturu Police Division (DPO) officers, has succeeded in saving four Chinese expatriates and two escort police officers.

“This follows the tribal report received on 04/04/2025 around 17: 30 hours, that unknown armed men have ambushed and attacked a group of Chinese expatriates and their police escort when they were on their way to their company’s site located in Agukwu-Amaya, Ndundu Community, Uturu, Uturu, Uturu, Uturu, Uturu, Uturu, Uturu, Uturu, Uturu, Uturu, Uturu, Uturu, Uturu issues.

“Tragically, during the attack, manager, Mr. Quan (male), his colleague, Mr. Cai (male), and Inspector Audu Saidu (one of the escort officers) was killed. The attacker also transported Saidu rifles.

“After receiving this information, the operators from the Abia State Command, in a joint operation with the military and other brother’s institutions, launched a search mission.

“As a result, three Chinese expatriates were rescued without injury, while one injured suffered. Uba Ahmed Inspector, who was also saved, suffered a shot injury to his feet. Both injured officers and expatriates currently receive treatment and respond to treatment at FMC Abakaliki.”
