Benue increases the school infrastructure with 374 projects, educational supplies – Blueprint Newspapers Limited

Benue’s state government has increased school infrastructures with at least 374 school projects and educational supplies to improve learning in public schools.

The projects and supplies based on the data obtained by the Benue State Universal Education Board (Subb) include renovation works in class, construction of hostels, perimeter fences, well installations and large -scale furniture distribution and other school needs.

According to data focused mainly on the intervention of 2025, 52 schools are undergoing rehabilitation in class with a completion phase of 75 %, while another 73 were equipped with chairs, desks and tables to improve teaching and learning.

Speaking of development in a telephone interview with our correspondent, the executive president of the State Universal Basic Education Board (Subeb), Dr. Grace Ceagba, said that the projects and supplies that included the rehabilitation in class, the construction of hostels, perimeter fence, the installations of the well and the supply of furniture, among other interventions aim to improve the learning conditions in public schools.

“We are doing our best in line with the vision of the governor Hyacinth alia to improve the public school infrastructure standard in the state. At the moment, 52 schools are currently subjected to rehabilitation in class, while another 73 have benefited from educational supplies.

“In addition, 13 schools are benefiting from the construction of buildings of floors, game rooms, here is and libraries with work already in an advanced phase,” he said.

The executive president said that the government was building perimeter fences and gatehouses in six schools to improve safety in schools, this is also when he said that the renovation of fences and gatehouses in two schools reached 85 %.

To deal with the scarcity of water in schools, dr. Ceagba said that wells were installed, steel stands and 2,000 -liter PVC armed tanks in 13 schools throughout the state.

On the offer of furniture, the president of Subeb revealed that the double 2 -seater benches were distributed to 73 schools, adding that the tables and chairs of teachers are provided to 70 schools throughout the state.

“To promote a culture of reading, our library structures have improved with the installation of digital and non -digital library furniture in 13 and 26 schools, moreover, the shelves of the steel library are provided in 12 schools.

“With these interventions, Governor Hyacinth Alia has shown a clear commitment to transform the education sector into Benue and I want to solicit the parties interested in continuing to support the government to guarantee the full implementation of these projects for the benefit of the child Benue,” he appealed.
