[Press Release] Our attention was attracted by another reckless, misleading and harmful declaration attributed to the chapter of the Edo State of the Democratic Party of people (PDP), signed by his advertising secretary, Chris Osa Nehikhare.

In this declaration, the PDP has again sold the statements without foundation and has tried to mislead the public on the issues that clearly does not understand or deliberately choose to misrepresent.

Let it be clearly affirmed that the statement is a shameful performance of the constant obsession of the PDP for the manufacture of lies against the person of the governor on Monday Okpebholo and the progressive administration of the Congress All Progressives (APC) in the Edo State.

These repeated explosions are the product of a party that drowns in irrelevance and in difficulty to remain in public speech.

It is hypocritical for the same PDP which has constantly desecrated the rule of law through the executive impunity and the abuse of the office to mention the electoral act now in the dishonest attempt to mark low -cost political points.

The Edo PDP is not in a moral position to read anyone on constitutional order or democratic values.

Their mandate to power has been defined by deception, poor administration and by an implacable assault on truth and transparency.

Let it also be noted that at the appropriate time, the PDP and its officials, including Chris Nehikhare, will be held responsible for the spurious accusations that have repeatedly done against the governor on Monday Okpebholo of the state of Edo and other public officials.

Enough is enough. These unfounded and foundation statements have no influence on the truth and constitute a deliberate effort to mislead the public, stop governance and cause disaffection in the state.

While the governor Okpebholo on Monday has, in good faith and in his respect for the rule of law, he has allowed these provocations to slip, the government will no longer tolerate this Calumny campaign.

If Chris Nehikhare and other leaders of the PDP do not derive from splitting and deliberately trying to undermine the peace and progress of the Edo state, they will be forced at the right time and before the appropriate legal authorities – to provide evidence for any wild affirmation they have done.

The PDP has transformed the political discourse into a theater of lies and bitterness.

Their refusal to respect the rules of engagement in a democratic society is shameful.

In several illegal meetings they have decided to destabilize the state of Edo through the disinformation and the assassination of the character.

But the administration of the governor on Monday Okpebholo will not be distracted.

The governor remains focused on the delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people of the state of Edo.

Edo belongs to all of us and no quantity of bitterness or false propaganda will derail the will of people or slow down the rhythm of development.
