Social networks are full of various reactions after a series of new tracksuits that many students of the National Institute of Sports (NIS) have begun to erode as part of the current reforms installed by the current leadership.
Sports247 gathered from a long chain of reactions on various social media platforms and WhatsApp groups that NIS students are excited about the newly introduced kits, which many observers believe could become uniforms for them.

Many respondents also praised the current Director General of NIS, Comrade Philip Shaibu, for raising the bar with reforms that bring about change through creative ideas and policies that have not only transformed the institute but also sparked enthusiasm and excitement among students.
A press release added in part: “The National Institute of Sports (NIS) has taken another step to improve the well-being, appearance and professional identity of its student coaches with the introduction of new official tracksuits to students training at the institute.
“The initiative is part of the deliberate reforms driven by the Director General/CEO of NIS, Honorable Philip Shaibu, who has continued to emphasize that the repositioning of the Institute must be reflected not only in its academic programs but also in the well-being, experience and overall development of its students.
“Under the leadership led by Shaibu, greater attention is being paid to the well-being of students, with efforts aimed at creating a more conducive and professional environment for future coaches to learn, train and develop.
“The new tracksuits are therefore more than just sportswear. They represent a renewed focus on student engagement, institutional identity and professionalism, while providing NIS student coaches with a greater sense of belonging as they prepare for their careers in the Nigerian sports industry.”
Sports247 further concluded that with quality training, improved welfare and brand image becoming key components of the ongoing reforms, NIS experts believe that the institution is moving towards its goal of producing better equipped and professionally supported coaches for Nigerian sports.
