Ganduje explained why FCT strategic for APC plans

National Chairperson of all Progressive Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has stated that the Federal Capital Region (FCT) is too significant to be regulated by the opposition parties, emphasizing the need for the ruling party to consolidate its presence in the seat of Nigeria’s political power.

Ganduje made a statement in Abuja on Thursday when he received a group of defenders from the opposition party, including the Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labor Party (LP), led by the Chairperson of the Abuja City Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Maikaliangu.

The reception, which was held in the old parade in Garki, was part of a larger political event by marking “Unity Abuja’s rally,” which was held to welcome new members into APC folds.

Speaking to the crowd, Ganduje said that the wave of consolation was a clear indication that the FCT population was increasingly in harmony with APC, especially in the bright efforts of the President of Bola Ahmed Tinubu which was seen to include the native of Abuja in the government.

“Abuja is not just any city. This is the capital of the country – the symbol of unity and the center of national government,” said Ganduje. “Leaving it in the hands of the opposition does not reflect the trust and direction that people want. With this mass defense, we are sure that APC will continue to get support from FCT voters and secure a new mandate for President Tinubu in 2027.”

At present, FCT is represented in the Senate by Ireti Kingibe from the Labor Party, while two seats in the DPR are divided between LP Joshua Obika and APC Abdulrahman Ajiya.

Ganduje praised Tinubu’s inclusive leadership style, referring to the appointment of the President of the native of Abuja to the main position of the government as proof of his commitment to national justice and integration.

Special Task Minister, Zephaniah Jisalo – The first FCT who was appointed as Minister in Nigerian history – also discussed the meeting, praising Tinubu to fulfill his campaign promises to lift the natives of the capital.

This event attracted high -ranking officials including Vice President of the Barau Jibrin Senate, former Governor of State Kogi Yahaya Bello, Chairman of the FCT Regional Council, Board Members, and Party Stakeholders from all Nigeria.
