Osanga: Nasarawa United ready to battle Kwara United

Nasarawa United captain King Osanga says the Solid Miners are determined to secure a positive result against Kwara United in their Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday five fixture on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

The match is scheduled to take place at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl at the George Innih Stadium in Ilorin, with the Solid Miners looking to bounce back from their recent setback.

Osanga acknowledged the difficulty of playing Kwara United at home but expressed confidence in his team’s ability to execute their plans.

“Definitely, they (Kwara United) will always have the home advantage because they play in front of their own fans. It has always been difficult to play against them,” Osanga said.

“But we have our own plan. We are here to make sure we make a point and by the grace of God we will put our house in order.”

The Nasarawa United captain also reflected on the team’s previous campaign, noting that football has its ups and downs. He said the team is determined to improve on last season’s performance.

“Unfortunately, last season we all know how we started the league, but it’s football, sometimes you go up and sometimes you go down.

“By the grace of God, we want to be better and do better than last season, and by the grace of God we will do it.”

Osanga also admitted that matches against Rivers United have historically been difficult, while emphasizing that Nasarawa United is focused on getting back to winning ways.

“It’s definitely never been an easy game against Rivers United. But that’s football: you prepare, they prepare. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the result we wanted.

“But we’re looking forward to getting a result here so we can bounce back soon and win.”

The fixture promises to be another important test for both sides as the 2026/27 NPFL season continues.
