The governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun condemned the incendiary attack against the building of the high court of ISILA by people who are still identified, describing the act as a criminal attack on the state judiciary.
This is contained in a declaration of Malam Olawale Rasheed, spokesman for the governor, on Monday in Osogbo.
Adeleke has directed an in -depth investigation on the accident and also invited safety agencies to strengthen safety in all the premises of the State Court.
“The security agencies must be conducted in -depth to arrest suspicions and make sure they face the consequences of their actions.
“I further direct the security agencies to strengthen surveillance between the various judicial buildings.
“Furthermore, the lawyer General and the Commissioner for Justice is to join the Ministry of Works and Infrastructures for the immediate rehabilitation of the judicial building,” he said.
Adeleke, who described the attack as a threat to democracy, said that the judiciary remains the stabilizer and the critical referee of the democratic process.
“The judiciary needs our support and not to be attached,” he said.
Freedomonline learned that the accident occurred in the early hours of Monday.
Freedomonline also learned that the incendiary attack led to the destruction of documents and exhibitions sensitive to the courtyard, with the entire Rase building on the ground.
An eye witness revealed that the State Fire Brigade responded to the accident but was unable to save the situation as the fire had destroyed the building before the firefighters’ arrival.
