The defender of FC Dallas, OSAZ URHOGHIDE, has officially declared his intention to represent Nigeria at the higher international level, despite being eligible to play for the Netherlands and England.
The 24 -year -old, who was born in Rotterdam and grew up in England, obtained a call in 2019 for Nigeria’s Olympic qualifiers against Libya.
But, I could not present for the team under the then Coach Imama Amapakabo due to an injury.
CB’s international career has been in a race in Limbo, but that narrative is interested in change.
In an interview reported by The Punch, Uhoghide made clear his position: โI am ready to play for my homeland, Nigeria. I have informed the relatives of my preparation to play for the Eagles.
“I am also using this opportunity for the Nigeria Football Federation to know that I am ready.”
After leaving the Scottish side Celtic in 2023, Uhoghide joined the Ligue 2 Amiens team, where he made 41 appearances and scored three goals.
His performances earned a record transfer to FC Dallas in February 2025, which makes him the most expensive defensive firm of the club.
Since he arrived at the MLS, Uhoghide has become a key figure for Dallas, playing every minute of his first nine league games this season.

His strength, defensive awareness and his ability to play both centrally and in wide areas make it an asset, especially for a super -eagles background line, currently in transition.
With William Troost-Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo and Leon Balogun in his twilight, the young CB could provide the impulse that Nigeria needs desperately.
