The French coach Patrice Neveu has finally received the € 52,883.66 due by the Gabon football federation.
The long -standing financial dispute between Neveu and the Central African nation has been resolved, ending an end to a saga that lasted more than a year.
FIFA had assigned the severance indemnity remuneration in April 2024, but the payment was delayed until a few hours before the final deadline.
The Gabonese government intervened to satisfy payment, since the Federation was unable to meet the financial requirements of FIFA.
Failure to pay by the deadline of April 25 could have involved serious sanctions, including the loss of qualifying points for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
With the payment now completed, Gabon avoids potential sports penalties and closes a chapter aimed in his football administration.
