The former athletes of the Imo State, under the flag of the former International Sports Men and Women Association (IMO Chapter), yesterday made a courtesy visit to the legend of the marathon, Mrs. Maria Oguba to appreciate her exceptional contributions to Atletics and sports development in the state. Oguloma, a renowned long distance runner in Africa, had proudly represented imo in numerous national competitions, gaining recognition and inspiring future generations of athletes.
The delegation, led by the President of the Association, Godson Osuigwe (Aka Amiyaka), underlined the need for unity and mutual support among the former athletes. “Since the government has many responsibilities, we must not forget to support each other,” he said, encouraging solidarity within the sports community.
