NGX: The equity market supports the bullish trend because investors get N143BN

The Nigerian equity market closed this week with N143 billion profit for the public investing on Friday.

This follows the surge in stock prices such as Nighern Nigeria Flour Mills, Trans-Nationwide Express and PLC Champion, among others on the trading floor.

The Benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) increased to 109,710.37 points from 109,467.64 points recorded on the previous day.

After five hours of trading in the capital market, the capitalization of equity rose to N68.9 trillion from N68.8 trillion posted by Bourse on Thursday.

The extent of the positive market due to 34 advanced shares, 23 shares declined, and 63 shares remain unchanged in 14,600 offers.

Northern Nigeria Flour Mills, Trans-Nationwide Express and PLC Champion led other strengthening with 10% growth each in the price closed at N119.90, N2.20 and N6.82 from N109.00, N2.00 and N6.20 per previous share.

International energy insurance, multiverse mining & exploration, and the PLC initiative led other prices with 9.57%, 9.55% and 7.86% of stock prices to be closed on N1.70, N8.05 and N6.80 from the previous N1.88, N8.90 and N7.38 per share.

In the volume index, the Access Holdings PLC led trade with 31 million shares in 1,530 offers, followed by a Trust Holding (GTCO) guarantee that was traded 30 million shares in 518 offers.

AIICO Insurance PLC (AIICO) trades 28 million shares in 238 agreements.

In the value index, Stocks Trust Trust Holding (GTCO) which is traded worth N2.0 billion in 518 agreements, followed by Access Holdings PLC which trade equity worth N735 million in 1,530 offers.

Zenith Bank PLC trades shares worth N719 million in 752 agreements.
