Former Sports Commissioner, Swan Hail Abakaliki FC on the Federation Cup killed Giant

The immediate past commissioner for the development and sport of youth in Ebonyi, Charles Akpu-Enika congratulated the Abakaliki Football Club for his miraculous qualification company for the 2025 president President Federation Cup.

The Ebonyi Chapter of Ebonyi of the Nigeria Association of Nigeria (Swan) also greeted the club for its cup race which culminated in a final place with only seven months of existence.

Abakaliki FC on Wednesday, beat the Ikorodu City FC of Lagos 5-4 in penalty after the regulatory times scores attest to 0-0 in Abuja, to qualify for the competition final.

Charles Akpuenika, the past immediate commissioner for Ebonyi’s youth and sport, said that the victory shows that commitment and hard work would always be rewarded.

“The club is currently struggling in the Nigeria National League (NNL), but the determination of the players to excel in front of turbulence, made him earn a final place of the Federation Cup.

“I praised the players and officials from the heart, in particular my successor, Richard Idike whose ingenuity made the club, the delicious gigantic at national level of the 2025 Federation Cup.

“” I am abundantly proud of this result because the basis of floating a football team in the state was placed during my commissioner period. “

He observed that the mode of winning players shows tenacity and decides to be successful despite all the chances.

“The club has won all its matches of the Federation Cup on a penalty shooter except the 2-0 Bashing of Enyimba of ABA in the 16 round.

“This is an attribute of a giant killer because it identifies and believes in its strength, using it to cause upheaval.

“I thank Governor Francis Nwifuru for his paternal love and support for the club whick has done, the toast of fans of football throughout the country.”

The president of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (Swan) Ebonyi State Chapter, Andy Nwogha in a declaration, described the victory as a point of reference that underlines the growth of football in the state.

Nwogha greeted the coherence of the team, having previously sent high -level clubs such as Enyimba, Katsina United, Nasarawa United and currently, Ikorodu FC.

“This is a proud moment for Ebonyi as the company demonstrates hard work, strategic planning and the recognition of indigenous talents.

“We appreciate the governor Francis Nwifuru for his support without river for the development of youth and sport, in line with the mantra of his administration People Charter of Needs.

“The association also praises the commissioner for the development and sport of youth, Richard Idike and the president of the club, Senator Obinna Ogba, for their ingenuity in guiding the club’s business.”
