Police Nabs FCDA Top Officer, Yankwashi for alleged conspiracy and imitation

Abuja (main journalists) as a saying says: “Many days for a thief and one day for the owner” The Nigerian police on Monday 26 May 2025, he captured an Mr. Jamilu Isa Yankwashi, a high official of the Federal Capital Development Authority, (FCDA) for the alleged criminal conspiracy and the impersonal of the president of the Chartered Institute Managers, (FCDA).

The main journalists report that the arrest was carried out in the early hours of Monday, in the conference room of the 3rd floor of the FCDA secretariat in Area 11, Abuja, by the police staff of the Office of the General Police Inspector.

A stopping mandate with the CR/392/25 number spotted by the basic journalists read: “In the magistrate head magistrate Court 1, Karu, Abuja between the police inspector and Jamilu Isah Yankwashi.

“The arrest warrant of person accused to all police officers, while Jamilu Yankwashi of the FCT Abuja is accused of offense of criminal conspiracy and imitation.

“You are directed by the arrest of the saying Jamilu Yankwashi dated 23rd day of May 2025.”

The General Chancellor, Chartered Institute of Project Managers of Nigeria (Cipmn), Henry Ifeanyi Mbadiewe confirmed the arrest saying: “Jamilu was arrested by the office of the general police inspector.

“Today (Monday), on May 26, 2025, Jamilu was arrested by the police in the FCDA room, where he was trying to start a training and induction of 5 days of the members of the Cipmn, although the room was scarce.

“IGP arrested him for the count of criminal conspiracy and representation. He is currently detained at the police headquarters.

“For years Jamilu, who is a staff of FCDA, has played the office of the president of Cipmn and on several occasions he has collected public funds with deceptive means, claiming to have the authority to issue Cipmn licenses.

Jamilu Isa Yankwashi, together with the former Prime Minister Victoria Okoronkwo, who was part of the Cipmn Council dissolved since then Mr. Muhammadu Buhari, continued to parade themselves as officers of the institute, deceiving the Nigerian public.

“He also made false statements to the police in order to try to stop the activities of the members of the Council legitimately elected and appointed by Cipmn and has successfully deceived the Federal Ministry of Commerce and the investments in thinking that he has a legitimate claim for the leadership of the Cipmn.

“Jamilu Isa Yankashi penetrated the office of the President of the National Assembly, the Minister of Defense and even the DG of the Bureau of Public Appromment before his arrest by the police.

“He also proceeded for numerous counts to ignore and ridicule the presidential order, which established the current council of the Institute and encouraged others to do it.

“Jamilu also collected fraudulently public funds in a limited liability company account in Zenith Bank not managed by the Council, but bears the name of the institute.

“His arrest today shows that the law will always reach those who believe they have the power to break it without consequences, those who think that a federal institution like Cipmn established by an act of the national assembly can be angled as a personal property, who believe that for nepotism they continue to continue making its way, today it is a clear sign that in the end, the hand of the law, although slow, could be recovered”, said it.

Basic journalists report that the Institute implores the IGP not to allow the ridiculous of the Nigerian police forces from suspicion and to make sure that the police see the matter through its logical and legal conclusion for the good of all the Nigerians.
